“Today’s students have many opportunities in comparison with the previous generations. They should try and find solutions to the problems that prevail in society,” Divisional Railway Manager of Palakkad Division, Southern Railways, Anand Prakash, said on Saturday.

Addressing candidates at the first graduation day at the Rathinam Technical Campus, Anand Prakash said: “I graduated in 1976 and then the opportunities were very less. But now there are many opportunities which will help students learn and aspire in this competitive world.”

Urging students to continue working hard, he also emphasised the importance of meticulously dealing with tough times and finding solutions to emerge out of the crisis.

“Engineering graduates have so many various fields to enter and shine. All you have to do is listen keenly and work accordingly. Staying updated in your domain knowledge is also very essential,” he added.

Around 140 students received degrees. While 27 were from civil engineering, 23 were from CSE, 32 were from ECE, 4 were from IT and 46 from mechanical engineering.
