Girls, women stage demo condemning Asifa’s rape in Coimbatore

Coimbatore : About 50 girls and women belonging to various women’s organisations today staged a demonstration in the city.

Seeking the Centre to reign in such people who were involved in the rape incidents in Kathua and Unnao, which have become a shameful talking point across the Globe.

The activists affiliated to, AIDWA, SFI and DYFI raised slogans against those involved in the rape of Asifa in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir and wanted the Centre to take stringent action them.

Holding placards with portraits of Asifa, a few girls below 10 years also urged the Centre to put an end to such heinous crimes and protect children, police said.
