Though the Grand Circus has commenced it’s daily shows in the city, the low-cost entertainer has been showing all signs of disappearing.

“The ban on using animals in circus has hit us very hard,” Chandran, the man behind the show laments.

“But still the show must go on. We have trained our artists to perform various acts to entertain the crowd. We have brought in professionals and foreign artists. Kids are excited and they are asking for more. That gives me the satisfaction, in spite of the hardship we face,” he says.

“On the contrary in Kerala artists who perform for 15 years or more get pension and every artist gets medical aid. The centre and the state government should do something for us,” he says.

The show is on at Thudiyalur grounds opposite to VG Hospital. Tickets are priced at Rs. 100, 150 and 200.
