Inauguration of CR Swaminathan Auditorium, Sports Hall and Bhoomi Pooja for Integrated Laboratory Block

Coimbatore – The inauguration of the C.R. Swaminathan Auditorium & Sports Hall and the Bhoomi Pooja ceremony for the Integrated Laboratory Block under the CRS Memorial Endowment Project were successfully held on July 9, 2025, at the Government Higher Secondary School, Sarcar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam, Coimbatore.

The event was graced by Thiru Pavankumar Giriyappanavar, IAS, District Collector of Coimbatore, who inaugurated the auditorium and participated in the Bhoomi Pooja ceremony. Mr. Balamurali, Chief Educational Officer, Coimbatore, also honored the occasion with his presence.

The gathering included esteemed donors of the CRS Memorial Endowment, members of the Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC), and other dignitaries such as:

As part of the celebrations, the CRI Pumps School Toppers Awards for the academic year 2023–2024 were presented to the top three students of Classes X and XII. These students were felicitated with medals, trophies, and cash prizes in recognition of their academic excellence.

The CRS Memorial Endowment was established in memory of the late C.R. Swaminathan, who served as President of RAAC for over two decades. The initiative aims to bridge critical infrastructure gaps in government schools, thereby enhancing educational opportunities for students from rural and underprivileged communities. The total value of the project is ₹2.5 crores.

These projects are designed to foster a dynamic learning environment and improve facilities for students. The CRS Memorial Endowment Committee has also announced its commitment to expanding support to other deserving schools across the region, furthering its mission of strengthening educational infrastructure.
