Insurance employees union offers to foot Kausalya’s education expenses

The All India Insurance Employees Union (AIIEU), affiliated to the CPI-M, had offered today to bear the entire educational expenses of Kausalya, the widow of the Dalit youth, Shankar, who was killed last week in Udumalpet.

Talking to the reporters at the Government Hospital, after meeting the 19-year-old Kausalya, who is getting treated there, the CPI-M MLA, K Thangavel said that union has assured to meet her education expenses. Also present were the office bearers of AIIEU.

Kausalya was doing her engineering course in a private college, when she fell in love with Shankar and got married some eight months ago.

Thangavel said that she had enquired if her mother and maternal uncle, who were responsible for the killing of her husband, were arrested, and asked why their arrests were being delayed.
