Javadekar to inaugurate Isha Vidhya annual conference

Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar will inaugurate Isha Vidhya’s first annual conference ‘Innovating India’s Schooling’ at Isha Yoga Centre here on November 5.

The conference has a unique and elite panel including Prof. J.S. Rajput, former director, National Council of Educational Research and Training; Dr. R.S. Praveen Kumar, secretary, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society; Prof. H. Devaraj, former UGC vice-chairman.

The Education Conference will be inaugurated in the presence of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder, Isha Foundation, and Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister, Ganta Srinivas Rao, as part of the 10th anniversary of Isha Vidhya.

Isha Vidhya has nine rural schools supporting 7,100 students and most of them being first generation learners and 60 per cent covered through scholarships.

The Isha Vidhya schools serve as models and training centers for the surrounding private and government school teachers and currently supporting 500 government schools across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The conference will be attended by 700 noted educationists and policy makers along with teachers, school heads, CSR managers and NGO representatives, to innovate India’s education system with the objectives of nurturing modern thinking without losing sight of the traditional wisdom and diversity of India; addressing the unique needs of India in the 21st century; and focusing on promoting India’s growth story and leveraging its youth capital.
