KMCH Hosts 29th Annual “KMCH Kovai Marathon 2025” To Champion Pediatric Cardiac Care Awareness

Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH), a leading multispecialty healthcare provider, successfully conducted its 29th annual edition of The KMCH Kovai Marathon on November 7, 2025. This year, the event aimed to create awareness and support for pediatric cardiac care.

​Dr.Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman & Managing Director, KMCH presided over the function and Dr. K. Karthikeyan, IPS, District Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore, officially flagged off the marathon.

​More than 4000 people, including doctors, medical professionals, nurses, students, participated in this highly-anticipated community event. The 16 km run, commenced from the KMCH Sulur Multispecialty Hospital and culminated at the KMCH Main Center on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.

​Speaking at the finish line, Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami highlighted the marathon’s legacy: “KMCH proudly pioneered Coimbatore’s first-ever marathon in 1991. Now in its 29th edition, we continue this tradition to galvanize community action against various diseases. This year’s focus on pediatric cardiac care is crucial; we aim to raise awareness and support for early detection and treatment of heart conditions affecting children in our region.”

Dr. Arun Palaniswami, Executive Director, KMCH, further commented on the hospital’s mission: ​”The tremendous turnout for the Kovai Marathon demonstrates the community’s commitment to child health. Our efforts extend beyond treating illnesses; we are dedicated to prevention and education. This event is a powerful platform that allows us to connect with thousands and underscore the importance of specialized care for our youngest patients.”
