KMCH inaugurates state-of-the-art cardiac care centre

The Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) inaugurated its state-of-the-art cardiac care centre in Ramnagar. The KMCH city center is equipped with the most modern Cath-Lab and other sophisticated medical equipments.

The KMCH city center has been upgraded with an outlay of Rs.25 crores, by adding specialty departments in order to deliver quality healthcare services. The city centre lays focus on cardiac care and will provide treatment to patients who suffer from various cardio-vascular diseases and disorders. Doctors of the hospital say that lifestyle change is one of the reasons why even the youth are suffering from cardio diseases and disorders.

“The cardiology department at the KMCH city centre is managed by full time cardiologists. The city centre has become a boon for patients suffering from heart diseases and disorders,” Dr. Nallai G. Palaniswami, Chairman of KMCH, said.

Quoting from the World Health Organization (WHO) reports, the Chairman said cardiovascular diseases have emerged as the leading cause of mortality worldwide. According to the report, ‘Preventing Chronic Death’ by W.H.O, 30 percent of all global deaths (17.3 million of 58 million) are attributed to cardiovascular diseases. Indians around the world have the highest rate of heart disease and women are no exception. Another report by the WHO said that cardiovascular disease will be the largest cause of death and disability in India by 2020.
