Gorakhpur – Trivandrum Express tops the list with 24hrs delay in Coimbatore
Coimbatore : Fifty four per cent of trains reaching the city in the last three months were very late and Gorakhpur-Thiruvananthapuram SF Express was delayed train by 24 hours.
This was according to data collected by RailYatri, India’s fastest growing travel app, which continuously collects crowd-source data on train running status It also shows trends on performing/non-performing trains at a particular station.
“Many trains reaching Coimbatore show huge delay in arrival. Some are delayed by nearly 24 hours – around one full day – and this can affect anyone’s travel plan adversely. We, at RailYatri use deep data analysis to regularly bring out train trends across the country and hope such insight will go a long way in helping passengers plan their travel better,” spokesperson Florina Soren said in a statement.

Train 12511 Gorakhpur-Trivandrum Raptisagar SF Express was delayed by 1,485 minutes (24.5 hours), while train 16360 Patna-Ernakulam Express was delayed by 944 minutes (15.5 hr), 12626 New Delhi-Trivandrum Kerala SF Express by 620 minutes (10 hr), 12646 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Millenium SF Exp 448 minutes (7.5 hr) and 12508 Guwahati-Trivandrum SF Express by 408 (6.5 hr), she said.
However, RailYatri findings also report trains with good on-time performance, like 16617 Rameswaram-Coimbatore Express with most punctual arrival at Coimbatore station. Top 5 on-time trains were Rameswaram-Coimbatore Express (via Trichy) four minutes, 16688 Katra-Mqngalore Navyug Exp 12 minutes, 12970 Jaipur-Coimbatore SF Express 19 minutes, 22619 Patna-Ernakulam Express 19 minutes and 17606 Hyderabad Kacheguda-Mangalore Express by 20 minutes, it said.
RailYatri said train performance across the country was better in the mid-year months of June-August, when train delays are comparatively low.
