Marathon for a cause by Jama’at-e-Islami Hind

Jama’at-e-Islami Hind, Coimbatore, the organization that works towards promoting various social service causes and communal harmony will organise a marathon on October 18.

“Through this marathon we are trying to create awareness about alcohol and drug addiction among youngsters. Our aim is also to promote brotherhood through sports. We believe that marathon is the best way to bring the people of Coimbatore together to participate,” M. Abdul Hakkim, Public Relations Secretary, Jama’at-e-Islami Hind, Coimbatore, said.

The marathon is scheduled to take place in two categories – four km run and six km run. Nehru Stadium would be the starting point for both the races. The two marathons will be flagged off by K. Vijayakarthikeyan, Commissioner, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, at 6.30 a.m.
