Coimbatore : As part of an initiative for World Health Day and Childhood Cancer Awareness, the local chapter of Indian Medical Association is conducting a marathon ‘Run for Health’ on April 29 here.

It will be a mini marathon of 5 and 10 km distance and 3-km walkathon in which over 1,000 runners, including 500 doctors, are expected to participate, IMA local branch president Dr Vinoth Raj Kumar told reporters here today.
He said 70 per cent of childhood cancer was curable, but take proper treatment was not being followed. Funds collected from the event would be utilised for children having cancer.
