A Nigeria national, arrested on charges of selling narcotic substances, today created a scene on the court premises over the frequent adjournment of his case under the NDPS Act.
James, doing his graduation in a city college, used to send parcels by couriers to different destinations in and around the city. Growing suspicious, police raided his rented house and recovered 200 grams of narcotic substances and arrested and remanded him to custody.
The case was going on in the Narcotic Court here and the magistrate posted the case to another date.
Coming out of court hall, James started shouting against the lawyers and police for the frequent adjournments and for not closing the case, police said. However, the policemen on duty managed to convince him and took him back to jail, they said.
There was an oral complaint that James had attempted to assault the public prosecutor appearing in the case during the last two adjournments.
