Udhagamandalam: With restoration of railway track still continuing, the services of Nilgiris Mountain Rail (NMR) between Mettupalayam and Coonoor are suspended for tomorrow, for the fourth day.

The heavy rains which lashed the area resulted in landslide and uprooting of trees on the track between Kallar and Aderley stations forcing the cancellation of Heritage train from Sunday last.

Though works to restore the track were in progress for the last couple of days, more trees were uprooted and fell on the track, necessitating the announcement of the cancellation of train on daily basis, railway sources said.

In view of the unfinished restoration works, train services are cancelled from Mettupalayam to Coonoor for the fourth day tomorrow also, they said.
