Superintendent of Police Murali Ramba on Saturday ruled out any links with intensified checking at Kodanadu Estate, belonging to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and deployment of large number of police at her Poes Garden residence in Chennai.

Replying to a specific question on continued checking in the area, Ramba told reporters that the same check post and number of police are on duty at the Kodanadu Estate entrance, after the murder of a security guard some four months ago.

“There is no link between the increased police security in Poes Garden and routine checking in Kodanadu,” he said.

Asked about reports of additional cameras being installed in the estate, Ramba said there was no such installation from the police side.

Police had installed cameras after the murder of the guard and also the suicide of a staff two months ago.
