DMK treasurer and Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly M.K. Stalin today alleged that law and order situation was deteriorating in the State and there was no safety to women in the AIADMK rule.

“The remarks made by its own woman MP (Sasikala Pushpa) in Parliament, is a clear indication that there is no safety for women in the State, even to a woman MP, who has sought protection from the Chair,” Stalin said.

Addressing a function, where over 2,000 persons, joined the party from other political parties, Stalin alleged that the ruling party has failed to fulfill its electoral promises. “Whether in power or not, the DMK has worked hard and fought for the welfare of the people,” he said and accused the ruling party of not showing interest in the welfare for the people.

Stating that DMK has faced many elections, he said that the party was not formed only to capture power, but to fulfill the basic needs of the people. “The DMK has provided free power for farmers and waived their cooperative bank loans, whereas the AIADMK has failed to waive the loans taken by small and marginal farmers. The concerned minister is not replying properly on the issue, if raised in the Assembly,” he said.

“The ruling party has also failed to waive the students’ loan as promised, due to which a student in Madurai committed suicide,” Stalin alleged.
