About 50 activists of Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NTK) were arrested today, when they attempted to stage a rail roko in the city, protesting against the Centre for refusing to constitute the Cauvery Management Board.

Led by NTK district secretaries, Tamilselvan and Benjamin, the workers, including two women, raised slogans against the Centre and demanded that it immediately constitute the board.

A few activists of Veera Tamilar Munnani also joined the agitation, who blamed the Centre for supporting Karnataka in Cauvery issue. As the activists were proceeding to the railway station, police took them into custody.
