Police are searching for the brick kiln worker who, in an inebriated condition, had allegedly stabbed a man to death last night near Thudiyalur.

According to police, Bose, the brick kiln worker from Thadagam area, came to the hotel in Thaliyur Pappanaickenpalayam on the outskirts, late last night and asked for food. The hotel owner told him that they had run out of food. This angered Bose, who got into an argument with him.

Another kiln worker, Ramamurthy, spoke in support of the hotel owner. In a fit of rage, Bose took a knife lying on the table and stabbed Ramamurthy repeatedly, killing the latter on the spot. He then fled the scene.

Police are now looking for Bose.
