Coimbatore, December 4, 2025 — In a significant gesture towards improving neonatal care for the underprivileged, PSGTECHS COE INDUTECH, the Center of Excellence for Industrial and Home Textiles established under the Ministry of Textiles’ Technology Mission for Technical Textiles (TMTT), donated 200 baby bed protectors to the Paediatrics and Neonatology departments of the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

PSGTECHS COE INDUTECH, located at the PSG campus in Neelambur and implemented by the Departments of Textile Technology and Automobile Engineering of PSG College of Technology, is a world-class facility dedicated to research, development, manufacturing, and testing of advanced industrial and home textiles. The Centre supports the growth of technical textiles in India through incubation, product development, testing services in its NABL-accredited laboratory, and training programs. Products developed by the Centre are marketed under the brand name Comfey Care.

As part of its social responsibility initiative, the Centre manufactures high-quality baby bed protectors designed to safeguard infant mattresses from fluids, stains, and allergens, thereby reducing the risk of infections, rashes, and respiratory allergies among newborns. These waterproof, breathable, and machine-washable protectors are available in multiple standard and custom sizes.

On December 4, 2025, Mr V. Muthukumar, Administrator, PSGTECHS COE INDUTECH, formally handed over 200 baby bed protectors to Dr Sasikumar, Head of Paediatrics, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH), in the presence of CMCH Dean, Dr Geethanjali.
