Public seize minivan with waste from Kerala

The residents of Kaniyur on Thursday seized a minivan carrying fish waste from Palakkad.

According to sources, the residents noticed foul smell emanating from the minivan that was parked near Kaniyur Tollgate. On investigation, they found out that it was carrying fish waste. They seized the minivan and informed the police and the Health Department.

On investigations, the minivan driver, Devaraj said that the waste was being taken from Palakkad to a poultry farm in Namakkal. The health officials who checked the contents of the minivan declared that it was environmentally harmful and could cause disease.

The officials have sent the minivan with its cargo back to Kerala.
