Young Indians (Yi) is a part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization playing a proactive role in India’s development process. Formed in the year 2002 and currently with more than 1837 direct members in 38 chapters, Yi engages around 10,500 students through student nets, under the brand ‘Yuva’. Yi’s Coimbatore chapter is the largest with more than 180 like-minded individuals.

Native Angels Network (NAN) is a forum for Angel Investors who invest in innovative ventures from their native regions. NAN is created and managed by Nativelead Foundation, a non-profit organization working in the start-up ecosystems building in tier two and three areas, with the participation of the respective communities.

Yi (Coimbatore Chapter) and NAN have joined hands to organize the Startup Summit in November 2015 in Coimbatore. The objective of the event is to identify innovative start-ups, mentor them and get them funding opportunities.

“As the most vibrant chapter of Young Indians (Yi), we are deeply committed to seed, nurture and evolve a culture of entrepreneurial mentoring, innovation, coaching and learning wherein successful young entrepreneurs of today inspire, motivate and guide the youngsters to become entrepreneur business leaders of tomorrow.” Raj Deepan Swaminathan, Chair, Entrepreneurship, Yi Coimbatore Chapter said.

The last date for registering for the Startup Summit is October 1, 2015. Post registration, the start-ups will participate in a Boot Camp on October 10 and 11, 2015. This boot camp is aimed at fine-tuning the ideas and preparing the start-ups for the pitch fest. The start-ups will then be mentored by successful and established first generation entrepreneur members of Yi for a period of one month until the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) which is scheduled in November.

On November 20 and 21, 2015, the selected potential start-ups will get an opportunity to pitch their business ideas to other entrepreneurs, investors, and HNIs. This pitch fest will be an opportunity for the start-ups to showcase their products and services to the audience. This will also act as a platform for them to get potential customers, mentors, and investors.

Anyone with the spirit of Entrepreneurship and a great business idea can participate in the event. The start-ups who are interested to participate can register themselves by sending their expression of interest to [email protected] or log on to fb/yistartupsummit. The last date for registration is October 1, 2015.
