Rs. 60 lakh in demonetised notes seized from a service apartment

COIMBATORE: Demonetised notes in the denomination of Rs.1,000, then valued at Rs. 60 lakh, were seized from a service apartment here on Tuesday.

Based on a tip off that a huge amount was kept in the apartment, taken on rent by one Dastagir of Namakkal, police rushed to the spot and opened the door with the help of the manager there.

Police found 60 bundles of Rs. 1000 notes in a leather bag. Police are on the look out for Dastagir.
