Chennai: DMK working president expressed dismay and shock over the sudden deaths of two key persons – personal driver of J Jayalalithaa and now the ‘suicide’ of a close aide of State Health Minister C Vijayabhaskar – and sought an independent judicial probe into the deaths.

The leader of opposition also sought the dismissal of Health Minister Vijayabhaskwar as IT had raided him and found some incriminating documents, Stalin said adding “there must also be a probe into the death of his close aide Subramaniam.”

It is impossible to believe that Subramaniam, who was a contractor based in Salem close to state health minister Vijayabhaskar was among those raided by IT persons and later questioned at length. Some incriminating documents were also recovered from him.

His sudden death, described as suicide by the police, is not convincing said MK Stalin in a press statement demanding a judicial probe into his death.

“Who is behind the sudden demise, which even the relatives of Subramaniam suspect was not suicide,” is a very important question that the investigating agencies must find answers to and arrest the guilty, Stalin said.

Likewise, the unnatural death of Nagarj, driver of J Jayalalithaa, who is said to be the prime suspect in the murder of security guard at Kodanad estate is also baffling the leader of opposition said, adding that Tamil Nadu police could not be trusted with investigations into these two sensitive cases.

What is more shocking is that investigations into minister Kanakaraj’s corruption case was also not going anywhere, Stalin said citing the fact that police had been forced to file an FIR by the Supreme Court. After that there has been little or no progress in the case, the leader of opposition alleged.

This minister also must be asked to resign forthwith and if he does not, then he should be sacked, Stalin said, launching a frontal attack on the EPS government.

To his followers, Stalin asked them to get ready for hustings, that can be held anytime as the present arrangement was unstable and likely not complete its full term.
