Students hold AIDS awareness street plays in Coimbatore

Students from the Master of Social Work department of Bharathiar University performed street plays in different parts of the city yesterday to create awareness about AIDS.

Joining hands with District AIDS Prevention and Control units functioning under Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society, the students held street plays at Gandhipuram town bus stand, New bus stand in Mettupalayam Road, Race Course, Greater Madukkarai panchayat and various other places. They were aimed at creating awareness about HIV and AIDS.

Students also took an oath to spread message about AIDS awareness and to do hold checkups involving officials and public at these points. They also distributed awareness pamphlets.
