Students of Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College emerge as Winners at Smart India Hackathon 2024

A team of innovative students from Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, has achieved a remarkable victory at the prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2024. This national-level competition, held at Mysuru, organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, challenges students to develop technological solutions for real-world problems.

The winning team, led by R. Adwaith of II B.Sc. Computer Science with Cyber Security and mentored by Dr. V. Shobana, Head of the Department of Computer Science with Cyber Security, developed an innovative solution in the form of a Gaming APP to address the pressing issue of rising rape and sexual harassment cases in India. Their project aims to foster empathy and understanding, particularly among men, through advanced tools and strategies. Their groundbreaking solution was adjudged the best, earning them medals, certificates, and a cash prize of Rs.50,000.
