Tamil version of Gandhi’s autobiography release on Sunday

A Tamil version of Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘An Autobiography: The Story of My Experiment with Truth,’ titled ‘Sathya Sothanai’, will be released here by actor Kamal Hassan on December 6.

Published by Sapna Book House and translated by Andal Priyadarshini, writer and Head of Programme, Doordarshan, Coimbatore and Madurai Kendras, the book runs into 700-odd pages, V. Karthikeyan, Chief Executive of Sapna, told reporters here today.

“The book has been made easy to understand by the younger generation and been given a natural touch by creative director of Maruthi Printers, Thangavelu with his exclusive designs,” he said.

A special discount price will be given on the release day, as for the hardbound book it would be Rs.400 and paperback would be Rs.220 as against the original Rs.450 and Rs.270
respectively, Karthikeyan said.

The writer and publisher had worked on the book for almost a year. Managing Director of Sapna Book House, Nitin Shah, Chairman of Coimbatore Kendra of Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar and Tamil poet Puviarasu, would also grace the book release.
