About 32 years ago women (residents) of Bharathi Park in Saibaba Colony came together to start Bharathi Park Ladies Association (BPLA). Ever since its inception, the women have been tirelessly working towards making Bharathi Park a better place to live in.

The group has about 115 ladies as members and they meet every Thursday to discuss on the plan of action for the week and the month ahead. This group is headed by President Premi Baalu, and it never misses to celebrate any special occasion or a festival.

Today around 100 members of the group came together and Teachers Day was celebrated. Two individuals from the teaching fraternity were recognized for their meritorious service that they are rendering.

“Apart from working towards making Bharathi Park a better place to live in, BPLA members come together to lend a helping hand to the needy as and when the need arises. We give away awards on special occasions to encourage and motivate deserving individuals,” Premi Baalu, President, BPLA said.

Today, K.V. Sudha, Principal of Sevanilayam, which is run by Angappa Trust was awarded Meritorious Maestro award. Also a recipient of the award in the same category is B. Jayanthi, Principal of Brindavan Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School.
“I am very happy having received this award. This school is 27 years old and I have been serving here for the last six years. I am honoured that my services are recognized.” Jayanthi said.
