An array of apparel categories for the 2016 season were showcased at the 3-day 41st edition of India Knit Fair featuring Autumn/Winter/Mid Summer Collection 2016, which began on October 7 at Tirupur.

The exhibits included men, women, and children wear and knitted fleece garments,baby bags, men’s T-Shirts, sleep wears, pyjamas, ladies tops with surface ornamentation works, full sleeve knits, sportswear, work wear,leisure wear, night wear and many more for all age groups.

The three-day event attracted buying agents and buyers from Canada, Algeria,Bangladesh, Indonesia, China, Singapore, Serbia, Australia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Israel, the UK and the US.

The participants got good enquiries from overseas buyers and buying agents with an expected business of around Rs.200 crore, Shaktivel, Chairman,India Knit Far Association, joint organisors with Apparel Export Promotion Council, said in a release.

He pointed out that the fair assumed significance as the garment export was progressing well and within three years, Tirupur would double the exports.

Apart from the usual cotton and polyester based garments, several organic based apparels were on display in this fair, besides there was a good demand for man made fiber garments.

A total of 53 leading exporters from Tirupur, Ludhiana, Mumbai,New Delhi, Hooghly,Thane, Salem, Chennai, Bhopal, Bengaluru and Coimbatore, had put up stalls in the fair.
