Three killed in separate accidents

Three persons were killed in separate accident cases in the city on Saturday.

According to the police, in one of the accidents, H Anwar Basha (70), a retired driver working with the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) from Erode, was reportedly driving on the Palladam to Pollachi High Road when a minivan hit his car head on. Anwar sustained grievous injuries to his head and succumbed on the spot. His wife A Sajudee (66) who was riding along him sustained injuries and is currently being treated.

In another accident, Durgesh Yadav (38) from Uttar Pradesh was reportedly walking on Sathy Road near SP Towers when a motorist hit him. Both suffered grievous injuries and were rushed to a private hospital. However, Durgesh succumbed on the way and the motorist Vishnu is being treated.

Another deceased M Rangaraj from KK Nagar in Mettupalayam was reportedly riding on the Mettupalayam to Karamadai Road. His vehicle was hit by another two-wheeler from the opposite direction and Rangaraj succumbed on the spot after suffering head injuries. Separate cases have been filed by the police and investigations are on.
