Tamil Nadu Congress Seva Dal today lauded the State Chief Minister Jayalalithaa
for the success of the Global Investors Meet, which had signed MOUs worth Rs.2.42 lakh crore.

“DMK President M. Karunanidhi was describing it as an eyewash, while treasurer, M.K.
Stalin was saying that it was aimed at the next Assembly elections, even as the people
of Tamil Nadu and industrialists welcomed the outcome of the meet,” Seva Dal State Chief organiser, K. Selvaraj told reporters here.

“Were the MOUs not genuine ? Why are these leaders trying to give a bad name to the State,?” he asked.

Selvaraj claimed that the recent DMK conference held in Palladam, where thousands
of party workers participated, had not displayed the photographs of party President
Karunanidhi on the stage.

Even the photographs of Periyar and Annadurai were missing in the conference and the organisers owed an explanation to the party workers, he said.

Selvaraj questioned the rationale behind DMK suddenly waking up to the issue of
prohibition, when the party did not impose prohibition during its regime and utilised the revenue from liquor during 2006-2011.
