MDMK Chief and one of the leaders of the Makkal Nala Koottani who visited Kousalya at the hospital advised her to be strong and live like Pak activist Malala Yousafzai, who waged a war against the Taliban.

After his one hour conversation with Kousalya, the victim of the Udumalai honour killing incident, Vaiko told reporters here that he had only counselled her like her grandfather and not as a politician.

“I had asked her to be like Malala who stood strong despite being shot by terrorists. I have encouraged her to develop strong mental will,” he said.

Claiming that he would present her with the Tamil version of the book ‘I am Malala,’ Vaiko also said that he will look after her and her requirements.

Blaming the state government for the incident, Vaiko said that the state has miserably failed to avert violence against the lower caste.

“This murder is instigated by casteist outfits and caste based political parties and the parents of Kousalya are not the sole masterminds ,” said Vaiko.

Claiming that such outfits are taking to barbarism in a world which that is opening arms to love marriages, Vaiko also said that such outfits involved in murder should be punished.

He also claimed that such outfits are the first enemies of society.

Accusing the Udumalai police for not providing security for the couple despite the two instances of kidnap earlier, Vaiko said that they were equally responsible for the murder.

Claiming to have supported a family also belonging to a Caste Hindu community after a member set himself ablaze, he said that castes meant nothing to him.
