Covai Post Network

Coimbatore: Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thirumavalavan today justified the demand of CPIM seeking to recall Tamil Nadu Governnor Banwarilal Purohit for his alleged intrusion in all matters without consulting the State govermment.

The governor was functioning on his own without consulting the elected government, raising a question on whether Governor has the power or the State government, Thirumavalavan told reporters here.

Besides, if the Governor continued to function like this by sidelining the Government, like in the case of appointment of a vice-chancellors, there was every possibility of friction and confrontation between the Centre and State, he said adding in view of this demand for recalling Purohit was justified.

He also condemned the stoning on the convoy of MDMK General Secretary by BJP workers and action should be taken against the culprits.

On derogatory remarks by BJP leaders, H Raja and S V Sekhar, he said that this was being done to deviate the Cauvery issue and they were boldened as the police was not taking any action agaisnt them.
