In yet another murder incident in the past 48 hours, an unidentified woman was found dead inside a house near Gold Wins here on Thursday.

Even as the police continue searching for the culprits involved in a murder-for-gain case that occurred near Thondamuthur on Wednesday, they have one more case in hand now – a decaying corpse of a 30-year-old woman was found in a house in Daskand Nagar at Gold Wins.

According to sources, a tenant named Selvam was living in the house, owned by S. Vijay (24). Selvam was employed at a private welding workshop near Neelambur. He had left a few days ago after locking the house and hasn’t been seen since then.

Residents complained to the Pelamedu police station after a foul smell began to emanate from the house. When police officials reached the spot and broke open the door, they found the decaying corpse of the woman. House owner Vijay said that when he went to collect the house rent, he had seen the deceased woman with Selvam at the house.

Commissioner of Police, A. Amalraj said that the suspect, Selvam, was in hiding somewhere near Perundhurai. An illicit affair is being suspected as the likely reason for the murder.
