Women poses as cop to run prostitution ring

In a peculiar incident, the city police have arrested a woman who had been allegedly running flesh trade racket near Chinavedapatti posing as a policewoman, in Coimbatore.

According to police, during a routine search to bust a prostitution racket in a residential area in Chinnavedapatti, the officials arrested one Kumari Kala, from Kanyakumari, who was dressed up in police costume. She tried to escape from the cops, but was caught.

At the time of her arrest, Kumari Kala was reportedly wearing Khaki pants and brown shoes.

Two others – Ragupath and Murugesan – were also arrested. All three were remanded to custody. The police have also rescued a woman from the house.

Saravanampatti Police are investigating the case.
