WTFU celebrates its 70th anniversary

The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) celebrated its 70th anniversary on Tuesday and the event was organised by the members of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions .

The event, presided over by the CITU District Secretary S. Arumugam, The event was inaugurated by C. Padmanabhan, district head of CITU. K. Subramanian, a lawyer and one of the leaders of the Indian Communist Party spoke on how the working class defeated Hitler’s Nazi army in Soviet Union, and detailed the protests conducted by trade unions around the world.

S. Krishnamoorthy, District Treasurer of CITU, also participated in the event.
