Youth detained under Goondas Act

Thanjavur: District Collector A. Annadurai today ordered the detention of Murthy, 28, son of Muniyandi and resident of Sarkar Thoppu, Kondikulam village in Pattukottai taluk under the Goondas Act.
Based on the recommendations made by Superintendent of Police J. Mahesh and relevant documents produced by inspector N. Anbazhagan of Sethubavachatram police station, the Collector ordered Murthy’s detention for indulging in activities prejudicial to the maintenance of public order and peace.
Subsequently, Murthy was lodged at the Central Prison in Tiruchi.
