After successful shows in Dubai, Chennai, Malaysia, Tirunelveli, and in other cities, Yuvan Shankar Raja and his team are getting ready for their debut show, ‘Voice of Yuvan’ in Coimbatore. Yuvan himself announced the show at a press meet. “I have joined hands with Yaras Network Private Limited, a Coimbatore-based company, for this concert. This live concert will also see participation from several people in the film industry whom I have worked with,” Yuvan said.

This three-hour event will also have laser lights and LED monitors to screen the live concert on the walls. The show is scheduled to take place on January 23, 2016 at the Hindustan Grounds, from 6 PM onwards.

“A part of funds raised from this event will be distributed to various charitable projects,” M.N. Aravind, Director of Yarss Network Private Limited, said.

The show will be ticketed in six categories. Tickets are priced from Rs.250 to Rs.25,000. The venue can accommodate up to 25,000 people.

Debut visit to Coimbatore city

Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja was in Coimbatore to address the media about his debut concert in the city. The Covai Post caught up with him backstage. Here are excerpts of an impromptu interview with him:

The Covai Post: Is this your first visit to Coimbatore?
Yuvan: Yes, it is.

The Covai Post: How does it feel being in this city?
Yuvan: I am happy to be in Covai. This is a city with warm, friendly people and wonderful weather. I’m excited that my team and I are performing in Covai city.

The Covai Post: What kept you from doing a show in this city for such a long time?
Yuvan: There are no particular reasons as such. It was just that I didn’t have the dates to perform. I like to balance my time with films, composing music, singing, and in doing shows. I’m happy that things have fallen in place and we are getting ready for the show. We have joined hands with Yarss Network Private Limited and are confident we will rock Covai city.

The Covai Post: The countdown for the show has begun. Can we expect to see Maestro Ilaiaraaja, actors Kamal Hassan, Vijay, and Ajith in Covai for your show?
Yuvan: That depends on their availability.

The Covai Post: Looks like you have slowed down and you have taken a break from films this year. Any reasons in particular?
Yuvan: Normally, I do 14 films a year. I have worked night and day to meet the deadlines. I felt mentally exhausted and tired. So this year I have taken a short break.

The Covai Post: What projects have you lined up?
Yuvan: I have joined hands with Silambarasan aka Simbu to do an album. This will be released soon.

The Covai Post: Your message to readers of the Covai Post?
Yuvan: This is our debut show in your city. Support us in making this show a grand success!
