The Dileep starrer Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakkeel hit the silver screens on February 21st to good reviews. Following this, there is a buzz that it may be remade in Hindi. According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are in fray for the role played by Dileep in the original version.

The film’s director B. Unni Krishnan confirmed this news in an interview to Silverscreen saying, “Viacom (the production company) is considering remaking the movie and discussions are in the initial stages. We are talking to both Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan for starring in the movie.”

Scripted and directed by B Unni Krishnan, Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakkeel has Dileep in the title role. The lead star plays a lawyer that stutters and it is a very challenging role in his career. Sharing the screen space with Dileep in the film are three female leads – Mamta Mohandas, Priya Anand and Prayaga Rose Martin. The supporting cast of the film comprises Saiju Kurup, Siddique, Aju Varghese, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Bindu Panicker, Renji Panicker, Lena, Sajid Yahiya and Bheeman Raghu.

The film’s technical crew includes Gopi Sunder and Rahul Raj for music, Akhil George for cinematography and Shameer Mohammad for editing.

On working with Dileep even after a sexual assault case was slapped upon him, director B Unni Krishnan had said, “This film with Dileep is not a new announcement. It was committed long back – in 2013 while I was directing Mohanlal-starrer Mr Fraud. But later, Dileep couldn’t schedule his dates for the project and then I narrated the script to Mohanlal after making some changes. But Mohanlal said it was a script tailor-made for Dileep and that it would be better if I worked on it with him itself.”
