Dulquer Salmaan’s Malayalam film Oru Yamandan Premakatha hit the marquee recently and is doing well at the theatres. It is a comedy entertainer that was directed by debut director BC Noufal. In this movie, there was a scene in which Dulquer was seen eating rice and fish curry to his heart’s content. On enacting this scene, the star said that it was the easiest and he did not have to strain himself too hard to act it out. Dulquer had posted on his social networking site, “I was on diet food for ages. And they gave me this manga meen curry and rice and I didn't have to act for that scene. Ate like I hadn't seen food before.”

Oru Yamandan Premakatha has Samyuktha Menon and Nikhila Vimal sharing the screen space with the lead star beside a host of other actors such as Salim Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan, Bibin and Vishnu Unnikrishnan in pivotal and supporting roles. Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George had penned the script for this film which was bankrolled by Anto Joseph under his banner.

The star’s last outing in Mollywood was with Solo in 2017. It was bilingual in Malayalam and Tamil directed by Bejoy Nambiar. He was also seen in the Telugu / Tamil bilingual Mahanati / Nadigayar Thilagam as veteran hero Gemini Ganesan. The film went on to become a huge hit.

Dulquer currently has the Bollywood flick Zoya Factor needing his attention. The film is based on the novel with the same title penned by Anuja Chauhan. It is about an advertising agency executive, Zoya Singh Solanki getting to meet the Indian Cricket Team and turning out to be their lucky mascot which eventually helps the team to lift the Cricket World Cup in 2010.

Besides these films, Dulquer is expecting the release of two Tamil movies – Vaan and Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal this year. Vaan directed by RA Karthik a travel-based script. The film is being shot in multiple locations. Priya Bhavani Shankar, who was last seen in Karhi's Kadai Kutty Singam has been roped in to play Dulquer’s romantic interest in the film. It also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kriti Kharbhanda as the other leads.
