The recently released silver screen, wonder, Manjummel Boys,depicts the resolute saga of a group of friends who, in spite of all the odds try to rescue their buddy trapped in a mysterious deep cave.
Director Chidambaram drawing inspiration from a real life event and the 1991 Kamalahasan flick guna , has got is Creative Mojo back , which leaves the audience spellbound. this cliffhanger revolves around a group of friends who travel to Kodaikanal and visit the Guna caves. If you imagine that this is going to be another adventure movie, then you are totally wrong. Though the movie is a linear narration, the screenplay is superb and enchanting. The real life events have been captured so beautifully that at the end it all looked like a dream and surreal.

The movie starts with a tug of war game between two groups at a marriage reception where the happy golucky friends lose the battle and finally end up, winning the war by saving their friend.

Though the movie is packed with a lot of beautiful and joyous moments, some of them definitely need to be mentioned. The scene where one of the friends cautions his companion, when he volunteers to enter the cave, and later on, says that, “nee erangillangil nyaan erangum“, leaves the audience in a state of awe. The best part was over reserved for the last scene when the song , “Manithar unarndhukolla idhu manidha kaadhal alla“plays in the background, as Subash is being rescued from the “Devil’s kitchen “. This metaphor for friendship takes imagination beyond limits, and the director definitely deserves a standing ovation.
