Scotland MP heaps praises on Lucifer

The Malayalam film Lucifer released to packed houses recently and is garnering good reviews. The film is receiving words of praises from film buffs and reviewers ever since its release. And the latest feather in the cap is with a video released by a Member of Parliament from Scotland. The MP, in a video praising Lucifer, said that he enjoyed the film thoroughly.

Incidentally, he is one of the biggest fans of Malayalam movies, we hear and has always made it a point to watch the best films released, particularly those starring Mammootty and Mohanlal.

Being Prithviraj’s maiden directorial, there were huge expectations on Lucifer and it has paid off well at the box office. Lucifer is not only a big success in Kerala but across the globe as well. The film is doing well abroad as well with the box office collections soaring. The film is doing a good business at the Box Office worldwide. It has reportedly emerged as the biggest opener for Mohanlal at the USA Box Office. The gross collections over the weekend in Kerala have surpassed Njan Prakashan and Kumbalangi Nights catapulting it to the number one position. The exact figures from the box office in different regions are expected to be out soon.

Lucifer has Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, and the Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles. Those in the supporting roles include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, Saniya Iyappan, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas, Nyla Usha and Mala Parvathy.

The technical crew of the film comprises Sujith Vasudevan for cinematography and Samjith for editing while Stephen Devassy is in charge of the music composition. Veteran writer and actor Murali Gopy has penned the script for Lucifer which is touted to be a political thriller. Apparently, Mohanlal plays a politician in the film. It is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

Lucifer has been shot in various places in Kerala including Ernakulam, Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram and in Mumbai. Some important portions were also canned in Lakshadweep and Russia.
