Sun Pictures just officially announced that Thalapathy 65 would be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar with Anirudh scoring music. Nelson had earlier directed Nayanthara’s Kolamavu Kokila and is also the director of Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor. The feature hasn’t been named as yet though ‘Target Raja’ is one of the names being discussed in social media.

Vijay had wrapped up Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Master that also sees the presence of Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj amongst others. Anirudh scores music.

Master is speculated to release for Pongal 2021 and is expected to drive back the crowds to the theatres, which have been seeing a rather dull scene for quite some time now.

Several names were thrown about for Thalapathy 65. Finally, it’s the combo of Sun Pictures, Vijay and Nelson.

Sun Pictures is also backing the mega project, Annaatthe, with Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead and is directed by Siruthai Siva. Annaatthe has music by D Imman. Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh are also a part of the cast. Annaatthe’s shooting is scheduled to commence in Hyderabad shortly with all safety measures in place.
