Delhi, Noida weather to see change, rain, thunderstorm predicted in next 2 hours

Light rain accompanied by thunderstorm and gusty winds has been predicted in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and other isolated parts of north India in the next two hours, which will bring down the mercury levels, providing relief to the people suffering from the scorching heat for the past few days. The weather forecast for Monday (May 13) predicted light rains and thunderstorm in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Delhi.

Gusty winds with a speed of around 20-30 km per hour would also occur in north India. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), rains may occur in a span of four to five hours and there is also the possibility of sandstorm and thunderstorm.

The areas where light rains and thunderstorm are predicted include Noida, Aurangabad, Aligarh, Barsana Hathras, Mathura, Agra, Narora, Jahangirabad, Etawah, Sahaswan in Uttar Pradesh.

In Rajasthan, Rajgarh, Mehndipur, Alwar, Bharatpur are predicted to receive light rains accompanied by a thunderstorm. Rains are also predicted in Haryana. Delhiites are likely to get some relief from the scorching heat on Monday as the weatherman has forecast light rain.

In Haryana, the isolated parts where light rains are predicted include Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Narnaul, Bawal, Narwana, Pilani, Hisar, Loharu, Rewari, Nuh, Palwal, and Hodal. With light rains, the weather will most likely turn pleasant on Monday evening.

Earlier in the day, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by squall (50-60 kmph) at isolated places over Nagaland and the adjoining areas. Hail and gusty winds with a speed of 40-50 kmph were predicted over Himachal Pradesh.

The weather is likely to stay pleasant in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and their adjoining areas on Tuesday (May 14) as well. The weatherman has predicted light rains and thunderstorm on Tuesday in many parts of north India.
