A woman was allegedly beaten with slippers and stones were hurled at her before she was stripped on a road by her brother-in-law and his family in Bengaluru’s Kammanahalli.

They also tried to stab her with a knife and ended up injuring her face, reported BangaloreMirror.

The victim filed a complaint with the Banaswadi police station on Wednesday (March 3), seeking action against her brother-in-law and his family.

The complainant is a widow and a mother of two. Her husband, Shivakumar, had died in January this year. The woman and her children were living in Banaswadi along with her husband’s brother and his family.

On Wednesday (March 3), her sister-in-law, Pramila picked up a fight with her and accused her of being a prostitute. Pramila allegedly threw slippers and stones at her and asked her to vacate the house as she was not employed.

The victim later approached the police, who advised her to file a complaint on Thursday morning. Things got worse after the family found out that she had approached the police.

“I was parking my bike, when Pramila [sister-in-law] came out with a knife all of a sudden and picked up a fight with me for approaching the police. Soon, her husband and her daughter too joined in. They pulled me, harassed me and stabbed me with the knife on my face. They removed my clothes while their daughter hit me on my head with a stone. My brother-in-law Satish removed my T-shirt and I couldn’t escape till my brother returned home,” the victim was quoted as saying in the news report.

The victim alleged that her daughter was also hit by their daughter for recording the incident on phone.

The victim later rushed to the Banaswadi police station, seeking protection. She filed a formal complaint against the accused for harassing her and her children. Meanwhile, Satish has been detained by the Banaswadi police.
