It is hard to watch a movie without munching or nibbling on our favorite snack. Afterall, it becomes an experience only when it is clubbed with food. And to make it a little more delicious and mouthwatering, Coffee Tree, the in house signature coffee shop of Cinépolis, is offering some freshly made delicacies such as cheese toast and pasta to satiate your hunger while you watch your star on the screen. Today, India’s 1 st international and the world’s 2 nd largest movie theatre circuit, hosted a master class with Chef Tanmoy Sarvardekar at Coffee Tree in Royal Meenakshi, Bangalore.

The Master Class at the Cinépolis Coffee Tree gave people the opportunity to witness the preparation of some unique creations by the Chef and also taste numerous scrumptious recipes available only at Coffee Tree. A few lucky winners also got a chance to partake in a unique cook off challenge where the Master Chef judged, based on the precision and flavors of the dishes prepared by the participants.

Devang Sampat, Director – Strategic Initiatives, Cinépolis India said, “The brand’s essence lies in providing fun experiences to its patrons through various initiatives. The master class by Chef Tanmoy was one such activation to engage our patrons in terms other than movies. Through Coffee Tree, we aim to provide memorable and joyful experiences to movie lovers. We are glad to have partnered with Chef Tanmoy as he resonates with our ideology and is one of the best chefs we have in India. ”

Chef Tanmoy Sarvardekar said, “The experience of collaborating with Cinépolis was an exhilarating one. The response from the audience was very warm and encouraging. Coffee Tree as a concept is very unique and has some good offerings in terms of food and beverage options which people always look for while going for a movie watching experience.”

A chat with Chef Tanmoy

What do you think of the Coffee Tree menu?

I think it is a very balanced menu. There is something for everybody. There are interesting nibbles for kids; burger, club sandwiches and pasta along with Oreo shake, masala lemon.

We don’t generally associate fresh ingredients with takeaways inside the theatre. Comment

Yes, but Coffee Tree is stressing on fresh ingredients. People are very health conscious nowadays, so, Coffee Tree is trying to keep it as fresh as possible.

What’s your favourite from the menu?

Chilli cheese toast along with a cola to drink.

Could you talk about one food myth and one food truth?

One myth is that cheese is unhealthy, which isn’t true. And one truth is, desserts are sinful.
