Two-day Coonoor fruit show begins

Udhagamandalam: The jallikkattu (taming the bull) image made of around 1 tonne of oranges and grapes is a major attraction at the 59th fruit show began at SIM’s park at nearby Coonoor today.

The show is part of the annual summer festival. Vadivasal, the egress for the bull which is sent to be tamed, is made of orange rind and grapes, while the bull is made of oranges. Grapes and oranges go to make the man taming the bull.

Eight districts are participating in the two-day show, inaugurated by Nilgiris District Collector P Shankar.

Tirupur district has different fruits going to make a Kangeyam bull and Virudhanagar has a fruit-made Rajapalayam dog.
