Puthiya Tamizhakam has played down the findings of the recent survey conducted by People Studies, which found that the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalalithaa is the most preferred candidate, saying that opinion of 3000 people cannot be considered as that of the entire state’s.

Calling the survey results “confusing,” the party president and MLA Dr. K. Krishnasamy said that a lot of issues influence the voting patterns and the outcome of the polls. “In the name of sample survey and also freedom of expression, People Studies, a socio-political research organisation, should not confuse the electorate,” he said.

He also demanded that the political parties in the state must unite and approach the Election Commission to ban such opinion polls.
