Pension adalat: Salem Division disposes of 35 petitions

The Salem Division of the Southern Railways disposed of 35 petitions – worth Rs. 48.05 lakh – on Friday.
The Division, that held pension adalat at Salem, received 62 representations. The remaining 27 could not be disposed of as they were in contravention to the rules or for want of some documents, a press release from the Salem Division said.
The division holds pension adalats twice a year – a regular one and another midterm – in order to address the grievances of railway pensioners.
Members of the Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies, an organization recognized by the Government. of India, were present to assist the pensioners/beneficiaries, in the presence of Divisional Personnel Officer S. Thirumurugan and other Divisional Officers.
Divisional Railway Manager Hari Shankar Verma said the Indian Railways in general and Salem Division in particular, always focused on the welfare of its staff both serving and retired and no efforts would be spared in ensuring their satisfaction.
