Three-year RI for trapping, killing leopard

A subordinate court in Kothagiri today sentenced a farm owner to three years imprisonment for killing a leopard by trapping it in an iron noose.
The prosecution case was that a leopard was found dead in the noose on September 5,2016,in the farm in Kolimedu of Raju,who was later arrested.
Judge R Sridhar sentenced Raju to undergo three years imprisonment and imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000.
