Man lands in trouble after taking selfie in Avanashilingeshwar sanctum sanctorum

Coimbatore : A 35-year-old person today created a flutter when he entered the sanctum sanctorum of the famous Avanashilingeshwar Temple near Tirupur and took a selfie in front of the idol.

It being New Moon, there were a large number of devotees at the temple last night and exploiting the chance, Dorai entered the sanctum sanctorum, where only priests are allowed, and took a selfie, police said today.

Noticing this, a few other devotees also attempted to enter the place for taking selfie. However, the head priest prevented them and handed over Dorai to the temple executive officer, they said.

The officer threatened to hand over Dorai to police, but later let him go, they said. The incident created in flutter and also anxious moments, they said.
