More than 1200 residents of the flood-ravaged areas of Cuddalore were examined and preventive medicines and vaccines were administered to them by a medical team from KG Hospital.

The doctors found that most of the residents suffered mainly from fever, cough, trench foot (caused by staying in the slush for long time), respiratory problems, and asthma.

KG Hospital Chairman Dr. G. Bhakthavatsalam had sent a team of seven to set up a two-day medical camp as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities. The team brought with it medicines worth Rs.5 lakhs and food items worth Rs.2 lakhs. The residents of Kurinjipadi, Aadur Agaram, Aadur Kuppam, Ayyan Kurinjipadi and Meenatchipettai were examined. Their diseases were worsened by the adverse weather condition and lack of good food.
